Prism Breakout — what we store, what we don't, and your choices.

Overview

Effective date: 2 July 2026 · Last updated: 2 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Prism Breakout (“the app”, “the game”) handles information. The app is developed and published by Marton Palotai, an individual developer trading as O Twist Games (“we”, “us”, “our”), who is the party responsible for your information under this policy.

Prism Breakout is a single-player arcade game that works without an account. Your gameplay, settings, and progress are stored on your device. The only feature that sends information off your device is the optional online World Leaderboard, and that feature stays off until you actively choose a public display name. We do not show advertisements, and we do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking technologies of any kind. The app makes no use of cross-app or cross-site tracking.

1. Information stored only on your device

The following is saved locally on your device (in the app's local storage) and is never transmitted to us or anyone else. It stays on your device until you clear the app's data or delete the app:

  • Game progress: your high score and whether you've completed the tutorial.
  • Settings: music and sound-effects volume and on/off toggles, mute state, visual quality, control preference, and your selected music tracks and playback mode.
  • Cosmetic choices: your equipped ball skin, avatar, ball effect, and background.
  • A local player identifier: a random, anonymous identifier (a UUID) generated on your device to keep your local records consistent. It is not derived from your device, hardware, or any personal information.
  • Your chosen display name: if you set one, a copy is stored on your device.
  • Pending leaderboard scores: if you opted into the leaderboard while offline, scores waiting to be uploaded are queued locally until a connection is available.

This on-device data is not personal information about your identity, and it is not backed up to our servers. Deleting the app removes it.

2. The optional World Leaderboard

Prism Breakout includes an optional global leaderboard. It is opt-in: nothing is sent to the leaderboard until you choose a public display name in the app. If you never set a display name, the app does not transmit your scores or profile.

Anonymous authentication (no sign-up)

To associate your scores with you across sessions, the app signs in anonymously to our backend. This creates an anonymous account identifier for you on the backend. There is no email address, password, phone number, or social login involved — you do not create an account and we do not receive any login credentials.

What is sent and stored when you use the leaderboard

  • Public display name: the name you choose (3–16 characters). Choose a name that does not reveal personal information — it is shown publicly.
  • Your score for a completed game.
  • Equipped cosmetic identifiers: the ball skin and avatar you had equipped, stored as catalog identifiers so your leaderboard row can display them.
  • Game version: the app version the score was made with (for integrity).
  • A per-game session identifier: a value that lets the server ignore duplicate submissions of the same game.
  • Your anonymous account identifier and a server-generated timestamp, recorded with each score.

What other players can see

The public leaderboard shows only your display name, score, rank, and equipped ball skin and avatar. Your anonymous account identifier, session identifier, game version, and timestamps are not shown to other players. We do not collect or display your device platform or operating system on the leaderboard.

What we do NOT collect

We do not collect your real name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise or approximate location, photos, calendar, health data, advertising identifiers, or device identifiers. We do not build advertising or behavioral profiles, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Network information

Like any internet service, when the app connects to the leaderboard our backend provider automatically receives your device's IP address in order to route the connection. We do not use your IP address to identify or track you, and it is not stored as part of your leaderboard record.

3. Service provider

The World Leaderboard is powered by Supabase (Supabase, Inc.), which provides the database and the anonymous authentication used by the feature. When you use the leaderboard, the information described in Section 2 is transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection to Supabase and stored there on our behalf as our data processor. This is the only third-party service that receives data from the app. You can review Supabase's privacy practices at supabase.com/privacy.

The app contains no third-party advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, or tracking software, and it loads no third-party fonts or remote content.

4. Why we process this information

  • To operate the optional World Leaderboard you chose to use — recording scores, computing global rankings, and showing your display name and equipped cosmetics next to your entry.
  • To keep the leaderboard fair and functional — for example, using the session identifier to prevent duplicate submissions and the game version for integrity.

Where the law requires a legal basis (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR), we rely on your consent, which you give by choosing a display name and using the leaderboard. You can withdraw at any time (see Section 6).

5. How long we keep it

Leaderboard entries (your display name, scores, and the associated data in Section 2) are retained for as long as the leaderboard operates, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first. If we ever retire the leaderboard, we will delete the associated data. Information stored on your device remains until you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.

6. Your choices and rights

  • Don't participate: simply don't set a display name — the leaderboard stays off and nothing is transmitted.
  • Delete on-device data: delete the app (or clear its data) to remove everything stored locally, including your local identifier and any saved display name.
  • Delete leaderboard data: because leaderboard accounts are anonymous, there is no in-app delete button. Email us at support@otwistgames.com with the display name you used, and we will delete your leaderboard profile and scores.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, or delete your information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us at support@otwistgames.com. Because leaderboard accounts are anonymous, we may only be able to act on requests that identify the specific display name and score(s) involved.

7. Security

Data transmitted for the leaderboard is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections. Our backend uses database access rules so that players cannot read other players' underlying account records — only the public leaderboard values (display name, score, rank, equipped cosmetics) are exposed. Because sign-in is anonymous, we store no passwords and no contact details. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the limited information involved.

8. Children's privacy

Prism Breakout is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The only user-provided information is a self-chosen public display name, which should not contain personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information — for example, a display name that identifies them — contact us at support@otwistgames.com and we will remove it.

9. International data transfers

Our service provider may store and process leaderboard data on servers located in the region where our backend is hosted, which may be outside your country of residence. Where such transfers occur, the data remains limited to what is described in Section 2 and is protected by the measures described in this policy.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and significant changes will be reflected here. Your continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
